Paula Patton was born in Los Angeles, California to a middle class family. Her childhood was filled with dreams of great heights. Her most memorable roles include the spy action film Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol as well as the romantic thriller Precious. Growing up with her family in Los Angeles with a middle-class mother, Patton had many desires. Her mother loved films, and she instilled a love of films into the girl. Paula was active with her school's cocurricular activities and especially captivated by the dramatic arts. Paula was a fan of acting with her classmates, and she participated in the school's stage productions. She was a part of numerous performances at the high school of Hamilton Magnet Arts High School and decided to take up acting as a career. In a summer program in the University of Southern California, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She won an assignment for PBS to make documentaries for 3 months. When she finished her three-month task successfully, her first job was to work in production of television documentaries. Later, she was able to produce documentaries. While she enjoyed the work, she yearned to be an actress. The romantic comedies Hitch she starred in a minor part alongside Will Smith. Over the past few years, she's appeared in many films and television shows.
