Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than 10 years. She is also the founder of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. After moving into England from Greece at 16, she received a MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it when she was 21. Then she became a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions which offered critiques of political scenarios. The fame she gained enabled her to get a variety of celebrities to contribute their opinion on current events, political and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. In addition, she also spearheaded an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential female media personality, taking the 12th position in the list. The same year the Guardian named her to the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as president of the media group, which also included the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was close with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. She was a leader throughout her childhood. As a 16-year-old, she moved over into her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she was a member of the college debate Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. In the years following after graduation she worked as a critic columnist and television host. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
