Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's written 15 books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. When she moved to England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA in Economics at Cambridge University. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took over the presidency. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the politics. Her fame and popularity helped in getting several high-profile contributors to share their opinions on politics news and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety when she ran in the California recall election in the place of Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th place on the list. The same year the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. In 2012, she became the head of the AOL media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who both are management consultants and journalists. Though she shared a close relationship with both her father and mother but it was their connection which shaped her. In her early years she demonstrated her leadership skills that she is still known for. In the year she turned 16years old, she emigrated from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the third and first female to be elected president. In 1972, she earned a Masters in Economics. She was a journalist as well as a host on TV and a columnist after her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
