In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song that time, within just six months. It was a mix of reggaeton and pop has not just brought attention to reggaeton but it also brought attention to Latin music more generally. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016, compared to two in 2015. In 2017, at the peak of popularity for Despacito, 19 tracks mainly in Spanish appeared on the Billboard Top 100. by 2020 the number will increase to 41 tracks in this category. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Then, popular musicians began collaborating with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny in the project MIA MIA (2018) while Madonna has collaborated with Maluma in Medellin. In the year 2020, some Reggaeton performers were complaining about the trend of the genre towards the mainstream. But, the younger generation Rauw Alejandro was determined to continue the evolution. The genre often incorporated elements of various genres, as well as electronic dance.
