Lee Roy Selmon's story combines family football scholarship with volunteerism in the community. His family's first name is Selmon is the eldest of nine kids who were raised within Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is among three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the top lineman from the USA. In his time as the Oklahoma's quarterback of choice and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. In 1975, he was awarded his third scholarship and was recognized as the National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon received a diploma in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout the college. After graduation Lee Roy relocating to Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with the Buccaneers. There were three times he was named All-Pro. Then he began his business career. He began his career in 1988. began working as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of America's most outstanding young males. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs when he played college football. The year 1975 was the first time he led the group. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. In 1988, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
